Facing the mirror

Article written by Lloyd B Hunt

Well, we all know the next line about who is the fairest in the land, etc. And we are all familiar with the mirror stance just before we go out to trip in the light fantastic, but what is the reason for standing in front of the mirror to pose? It's to see how good we are and how good we look?

Unfortunately, on the poker table we don't have a mirror to posture too, all we have is the talent that has been bestowed upon us either through natural ability or through our process of learning the poker game.

If we really want to know how good we are at playing poker then we need to set certain standards of achievement ; most of which can be condensed down into a set number of tournament games where we decide on the amount we want to get by the end.

Setting a pre-determined number of games to a fixed number of 30 poker tournaments games for example, will give you a good idea of the sort of player you are and your present range. It will also provide you with the information that you will need to progress as a player.

In winning a certain number of poker tournaments this method provides a target for you to aim at and offers a means to improve on that score.

So, by the end, you'll have no problem in knowing who is the better player; with or without the mirror.
