Tom “durrrr” Dwan put out a high stakes challenge and Patrik Antonius accepted it. Over the course of 50,000 hands, he would beat his opponent. Recently, they logged another 425 hands with Antonius now taking the lead. In this short session, Antonius won $161,086 giving him a $107,445 lead overall.
They only got to play for 82 minutes in this session as ‘durrrr’ was having connection problems. Anyone who plays online knows that a bad connection can easily cost you the pot but in this case, it can easily be tens of thousands of dollars. ‘durrrr’ commented in the online chat that his internet connection was faulty and he was going to quit until it was fixed.
Antonius picked up a huge pot in the first few hands of play. ‘durrrr’ led out with a $1,200 preflop raise and Antonius called. ‘durrrr’ was holding and Antonius held . The flop came and Antonius checked. ‘durrrr’ bet out $1,750, only to be check-raised to $7,650 which ‘durrrr’ called. Antonius bet $17,700 on the turn when the showed. ‘durrrr’ pushed all in for $31,350 which Antonius called. ‘durrrr’ was in the lead with his set of fives but Antonius had flush and straight draws. The river landed the giving Antonius the straight and an $80,399 pot.
A few hands later, another big hand took place. There was little action until the river when the board paired. Antonius bet $5,600 and ‘durrrr’ raised it to $19,300. Antonius re-raised it to $41,600 and after some time ‘durrrr’ called. Antonius showed nut full house raking in the $90,399 pot.
Out of the 50,000 hands to be played, the pair have logged 5,517 so far. Antonius has won 2,487 pots and ‘durrrr’ has won 3,010.
