WPT Allin Hold’em

Article written by Lloyd B Hunt

Want to play hold’em against just the dealer, well now you can. There is a new table game called “World Poker Tour All-In Hold’em™” and was released last april. It is being trialed at 10 different casinos.

The gameplay is fairly simple. Ever hand you must place the blind ante to be able to play and of course with most table games, there are betting options. You have the choice of placing more bets on your hole cards and the value of your hand at showdown. For example; Pocket Aces pays 20-1 or at showdown; four of a kind pays 40-1. So once you have placed your bets and the cards are dealt, now you can either fold, raise or go allin. A raise is by betting five times your ante and allin is ten times your ante.

The dealer will either fold or call. If he folds, he only pays off the blind ante. To call his hand has to meet certain criteria that is the same for every hand. If he calls, there is a flop, turn and river. You then take, your best 5 cards out of the 2 in your hand and the board versus the dealers best five based on his 2 hole cards and the board. If your hand is better than his, you win the blind ante and your raise or allin bet. If you lose, well I think you know whats gonna happen. I have read that because you can bet 5 or 10 times your ante that this is actually one of the better games to play against the house.

The last time I was in Las Vegas, this game was certainly popular. I watched a few hands and the people at the table seemed to be having a good time. I personnally prefer the standard version. This game is easy to learn and the hands are certainly faster than a traditional poker table. So if your looking for something new, give this a try.
