A Common Mistake Made By Poker Players
Article by G.Rock
A common mistake made by many beginner poker players, especially Texas Hold'Em players is playing too many hands. This is a big inhibitor of getting your bankroll built up.
Most Texas Hold'Em players know that being a tight/aggressive player is a winning player. Once a player gets comfortable at a table they tend to stray from the tight play that they had been exhibiting earlier in the game. I have seen this happen on many occasions, I admit to being guilty of it myself, if you want to be a good poker player...make that a winning poker player then do not allow yourself to fall into this trap.
At most, you should be putting less than 20% of your money into the pot. Playing tight allows you to be aggressive. Playing tight/agressive allows you to be a winner.
By keeping with the tight/aggressive style of play you are not playing crap hands that many others at the table are playing. Don't allow yourself to get too relaxed after winning several pots. Keep in mind what got you those pots...tight/aggressive play. Like the song says..."You got to know when to fold em".
